"Drawing at home" is an artist sketchbook made when due to COVID-19 everyone was staying home. The drawings are almost all self-portraits. Although the subject remains the same, the drawings were done over time and vary in style, focus, and mood.
Being home, washing my hands in changing light throughout the day, and often seeing my reflection in the mirror prompted this series of self-portraits. At the same time I was painting birds. I used whatever watercolour paint was left over from the bird drawings for the portraits. The “bird” colours added unexpected colour combinations and outcomes.
